2K Games has appointed a seasoned producer from the creators of Apex Legends to lead the studio crew at 31st Union, which is currently developing the anticipated third-person roguelike extraction-shooter known as this innovative game.

The new appointee assumes the role of studio head at the development studio following the departure of former leader the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was reportedly let go due to the game's disappointing unveiling last autumn.

You all are some of the most motivated and talented designers we have had the opportunity to collaborate with - and we’re looking forward for that partnership to continue.”

Through your commitment and versatility, particularly over the past twelve months, you repeatedly show that.

The community feedback from last autumn’s Project ETHOS testing phase was revealing. It affirmed the appeal of a action-packed game but told us we still had refinements needed. It revealed the need for a sharper vision.

The progress is encouraging to see how far you’ve come. You accepted the input to consideration and reimagined the title with a refreshed goal - one that’s ready to achieve its potential to our audience.

The trust in this project strengthens every day. To further the outstanding progress you’ve made, I am thrilled to announce the new hire as the new Lead of 31st Union. After several months of talks, Ben starts with us on Monday, October 20.

Ben’s guidance and experience in the PVP shooter space is vast, having dedicated the recent years producing and managing some of the most popular series in the industry, including Call of Duty: Black Ops, and more recently, the battle royale hit.
