The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Fans' Second Season Bingo Cards — With Some Good News

The highly-awaited Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel arrives on the streaming platform this week, and fan speculation has been intense.

The first season presents a large cast of characters residing in Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds with musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and builds tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that drive fan obsession.

The community's expectations for season 2 vary widely, but certain themes emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with audience demands as the main goal," the showrunner stated earlier this year. "However I feel like me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.

That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season moves, and how many of what they're waiting for unfolds this season.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some incredible disclosures, some really cool origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — particularly in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a few fans create a bingo card about the new season," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've already completed some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
