Former Doctor Charged with Sexual Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities report that a former physician has been charged with performing assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
Details of the Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous sexual offences – comprising acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.
A senior CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Investigation
These allegations come after what police described as a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
List of Charges
Prosecutors said the 45 sexual offences include:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
